Midweek Photo Fun

First, interior detailing of my roundhouse.

The Three Horsemen of the Milwaukalypse - Left to right, P2K GP9, old (like 50 years) F7, and P1K Alco RS-3.

The difference between an old Athearn GP-9 (left) and a new P2K GP-9 (right.) Note the width of the hood.

Nice work MisterBeasley. How bout some more pics of that round house!!

The roundhouse is still under construction. We went skiing the last couple of weekends, and with the holidays coming up I haven’t been given much train-time. I’m hoping to install some rock-wall foundations over the holiday break, both for the roundhouse and the turntable. For the moment, I’ll keep the Atlas turntable the way it is, but I’m thinking of turning it into a pit turntable.

I had a link to a web site that showed how someone did make a pit turntable out of an Atlas, but the link has gone bad. Does anyone know where that went?

[:)]Looking good! I would allso like to have the info on the altas turntable.
JIM

was this the turntable info you were looking for ?

I think that’s a different one than the one I remember, but there’s a lot of good technique there. It looks like the bottom of the pit would rotate with the bridge, though, and that’s something I would do differently. One thing I like is the wide bridge. That would allow a good attachment to the center of the original base, while the edges could be raised a bit. With the wide base, the end bogies on the rails could be purely decorative, or the bogies could be “hidden” and not really be there at all. The pit base would then be a disk, cut out in the center to accomodate the attachment at the hub.

i like that model looks great.
