“where economies continue to grow - like the US” What US are we talking about? Fake economies can look like they’re growing, but declines in commodity production say otherwise.

It appears that we are starting to reap the reward of a strong U.S. Dollar/ While having a strong dollar has it’s rewards, one of the downsides is that our exports become more expensive, and sometimes price themselves out of the market.

US steel complains about the influx of foreign steel and yet they themselves have steel brought in on ocean vessels.

So a silly question here…it looks like the load is steaming…is it the snow and picture angle??

The taconite is still hot from the processing when it is loaded, so yes the load is steaming.

This is the down side of low commodity prices. Miners, processors, oil and gas workers, and their suppliers are low on work. The positive side is lower prices for products. This includes the decline in oil prices which is great when I fill up my car, but people are losing their jobs because of it.

Shouldn’t it be Iron Mountain, MN? Not Mountain Iron?

Nope, I stand corrected.
