Minnesota Zephyr?

What is the Minnesota Zephyr?

Its a dinner train that runs in Stillwater Minnesota. About a 3 hour, 20 mile round trip. I live about 6 miles from it, and have never ridden. Maybe one of these days.[swg]

Here is the link to their website. I think I know the guy who posted that photo in your link.

Looks like fun.

They had a dinner train that ran on BC Rail through North Vancouver, but for whatever reason they could never make a run at it.

Too bad I only ever heard about it AFTER it went belly-up.

I’ve ridden this train. It’s a dinner train with some 30s style entertainment. It goes very slowly and, at night, the scenery is not very visible. I’d suggest a luncheon ride. Not something you’d want to do twice.

Actually, in the summer it stays light long enough. The fall is pretty around here, but the timing may be such that you lose much of the view. Weekends are probably the best rides in the fall, but I would suspect that they fill up quickly. By the way, there was another topic here about “have you ever driven a train?”. I answered yes, and it was on this line where the Zephyr now runs. The Zephyr didn’t always operate on this line. It used to be about 50 miles away, on some old C&NW tracks. It was moved about 15 years ago to these ex NP tracks.
