Mod Podge uses

Mod podge Gloss seems to be a very versitile product that has at least 4 uses in model railroading. Can you think of any others to add to the list ?

1 shallow streams &swamps.

2 Adhesive to attach glazing. (dries clear)

3 make window panes up to about 1/4" square. (coat the inside edges & drag it across)

4 A drop or 2 in a scale size bucket to represent water

I used it to seal the labels to my test track (I printed a label in my label maker that calls off the car weights based on length), and also to seal the labels on my storage bins and drawers - they seem to have a tendency to peel up at the edges when simply stuck on with the adhesive backing, so I tried a coat of gloss modge-podge over them and it seems to work.

Mix a tiny bit of Mod Podge gloss with black craft paint and run a streak down the middle of the tracks. Instant oil slick on the ties and ballast.

I haven’t used their gloss, but I use Mod Podge matte finish as the adhesive part of my scenery adhesive mixture for ballast and ground cover.

OK I’m filing that one away for later, that looks really good. I have to use this bottle of gloss up somehow - I could have sworn I picked up a bottle of matte because I wanted to use it for ballast, but then I got home and it was gloss. [|(]

I use it for all of my water surfaces. I like it plenty!

That is very good looking water. Can you tell me what colors you used?

No, but if you buy the July/August N Scale Magazine, you can find out with the rest of the world![8D]

Thats alot of oil, ya better check the bearings!!!

Agreed. It was an experiment to see how it would work. Besides, a steamer wouldn’t leave a streak like that. [:D]
