The NMRA (National Model Railroad Association) has a listing of hobby shops on their website. Note that they only list those shops that have their own website. Unfortunately they only list one for the entire state of Mississippi and it is in Gulfport which is 2 hrs. and 40 mins. south of Jackson on HWY 49. Not exactly close!
