Model railroad video: Building the HO scale Virginian Ry. part 13

This was my favorite video so far in this series. You covered a variety of modeling tips. I liked how Jim made a mockup of the mine and used it as a template for kit bashing the final model, Great idea! The video information and personal comments really increase the enjoyment of this hobby!
Thanks to everyone at MRR for making this such a great hobby!

I am thorougly enjoying this video series. Thanks, David, for producing it, and thanks staff for showing us how to do some great modeling. Very inspiring! I’m still amazed at all that you’ve included in a 4’x8’ layout.

Great series… I look forward to each episode…

I’m really enjoying the videos and corresponding magazine articles; learning a lot too! Many thanks for all the tips and hints. Well done, guys.

About 10:04 in the program, in the tail credits, who makes that Reid Gap structure?

Every vedio is a education.

To say Richard and Barbara are right it would be heaven to play with trains all day and get paid for it to boot.

Excellent work guys! Model Railroad building is a hobby for life for sure " The World’s greatest Hobby"… subscribing to MR magazine and getting to see the how to video’s…couldn’t do without it ! Thank-you for great all round value !

Well done, another good vedio on your project. keep up the good work. I look foreward to seeing how it’s going.

You guys always a beautiful job.

Eric, American Model Builders makes the Reid Gap structure.

I like watching your videos. They are not only good for seeing the layout itself, they also show some of the details of making the layout come alive.

I want to see the tower they kitbashed for the mine. IT’s unique. HO needs more mine structures of size. Z scale just got both a tipple and an extension for the minehead. We have nothing like that in HO. If a manufacturer came up with a set-up like that which could be customized by the modeler, surely it would sell.

good videos but i hope that when the projuct is complete that MR puts together a full leight video more detailed. I am just getting stsrted in model railroading and can use all the help you can give me. Thanks.

I like the videos very much. I started to build the layout as it was displayed in the paper magazines. I am some what disapointed with the lack of demension on where track and structures should be placed. I tried to use the six inch grid in the picture but ended up with turnouts not being in the proper locations. The is not a bad criticism but a request to give the project a little more detail. Overall the videos and the magizine articles are absolutely great.

Well it’s the last day of the holidays for me & i’ve been slowly working my way through the video’s on the project layouts you guys have built.
After moving from modeling my native England, i’m now moving to American ho. These videos i’ve found very informative & packed with great tips & advice which i am going to put into action on my next layout based on the Boston & Maine circa 1975

Cheers
