Model Railroader 75-Year Collection (1934-2009) on DVD / Can't print pages!

A few years ago i purchased the Model Railroader 75-Year Collection (1934-2009) on DVD ($200), loaded it on my laptop hard drive, and pitched my old hard copies of MR from 2009 and back. Recently, i decided to build an N-scale layout in a coffee table that was featured in MR from December 1970 through April 1971. I tried to print the articles from the Collection, but can’t do it, either from the hard drive or the DVDs. Obvious reasons to print the articles for my own use include (i) utilization of full size drawings of structures and buildings, (ii) utilization of full-size curvature templates, and (iii) easier reading than trying to read off my laptop in a dusty workship. Kalmbach has offered no help. They say if I could print the articles off of the Collection, I could make copies and give them to someone else. This is not my intention. Besides, I can make copies of the hard copy issue of MR I get every month and have good reason to do so from time to time for my own use.

I just want hard copy prints for my own use of articles in the Collection I bought and paid for. Any ideas on how to skin this cat?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Paul

I do not have the Model Railroader collection, but do own the Trains 75 year collection. In that there is a simple print command for the pages displayed. It’s on the top bar next to the right-left buttons.

Is your display different?

I do have the Model Railroader 75-Year Collection (1934-2009), but like LensCapOn the print icon is the left most icon on the top right of the screen, and I’ve just printed off a drawing.

Hope this helps? Cheers, the Bear.

Ah, but can you print out a page of an article?

Yes, the drawing was a part of an article and I got the complete page, which was good because it also contained some instructions.[:D]

I do not believe Kalmbach ever claimed that what you would print out from the MR DVD would be the same size as the printed page - that is, a drawing in 1:87.1 HO scale would not necessarily print out to that size.

Because I mostly value my oldest MRs for the prototype drawings I discarded none of them.

Using the print button at the top:

I just printed a page that had a track plan drawing with red shades, a table of characteristics, 2 black and white photos, and text. It all printed just fine and filled an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper.
