Modeler’s spotlight video for January 28 – Inside Cody’s Office
hi cody
i like your office episode their awsome!!!
You’re becoming quite popular
Very informative. A few tricks with couplers will help. Thanks and keep coming with the great tips on Model Railroading.
Bob
Great show as always, guys, thank you! I just off-loaded a bunch of my Great Northern passenger cars (full length heavyweight cars) on eBay. I was having great difficulty with the cars traveling over my not-so-level height changes on my HO layout. I did not have the time (or so I thought) or the materials to fix the coupler height on these cars. I wish I would have seen your segment sooner and I may have just kept those cars after-all. Thank you for the segment anyways and I will most definitely use the techniques on my 50ft and less freight and passenger cars that are still out there.
Kind regards,
Cade Scott
I really like codys corner helpful and good for a smile.
Hey Cody! Just how big is your fan club getting? I’ll volunteer to be the president (or Chief Grand Poobah or whatever). Anyway, love the show as always. It’s a terrific way to begin winding down the week.
You’ll have to organize a Cody fan club gathering sometime…
Keep 'em rolling!
Dan
The Kadee coupler height gauge (at least the HO one) has a third function in addition to coupler height and trip pin height - the steel rod also shows if the between the rails Kadee uncoupling magnet is at the right height. Most of us (even those of us who, unlike Cody, have no groupies and autograph seekers) have had the experience of having the uncoupling gauge on the layout, forgetting it’s there, and then spending long periods of time wondering why we have a dead short on the tracks!
What changed? Cody’s Office worked just fine. Now I get sporadic audio and no video.
this was the first time i looked at one of your shows. i will be looking at more of them as time goes on. i am just now converting to dcc and so i watch and read anything connected to that.
i also am working on buliding trestles. will be waiting to see how you do it. thanks and keep up the good work
Hi Cody,
What is the scoop with the Dates on Model Railroader? Today is January 28 and I have just recived my March Model Railroader in the mail. It’s not even February yet. Is Model Railroader part of of the conspiracy that thinks Christmas decorations should be in stores before Halloween?

By the Way Eric in the Hall got me. I was think you said Eric Hall.
Dear MR,
It is always great to see how the “Pros” do couplers. It may be a familiar way of doing them while it validates what has been all along.

Cody’s office is informative and will presented. I enjoy the tip of the week. I was reviewing your video’s from 2008 and seen your bananas in the cabinet, but on your video’s now I don’t see them. Did you find another place to keep them. Keep up the good work and tell David he does a great job filming.
Video kept breaking up,picture quality was good. The problem may be in the antiquated computer that I have.
Congrats for two years!
I have recently started scenery and I would like to ask a question. When painting the foam “cake” layers, I was able to see where one layer met and the other began, how do I hide this phenomena?

Is it me or is this video defective? All the others have always played with no problems, this one is all start and stop. It keeps reloading itself.
thx for the great tips
Great episode, I was wondering, could Kalmbach or Athearn or Walthers start selling the hopper cars with the Cody’s Office murals on them like the cars in the opening of each show? Thanks!
Good tips, Cody. Always enjoy this segment!
Hi Cody
I came across a photo of a steam locomotive of a unknown type it was owned by the state of georgia I was wondering what types did they own?
