The Great Pumpkin has reappeared in Wisconsin!
Hi Cody, You should mention there are a lot of computer programs for track planning. Some are free! Bob
Cody, Nice new products out, the out takes were fun to watch, are you guys only doing one episode a month now.
Cody, I love this feature every month and really look forward to it. I also look forward to each and every issue of MR!!
And I too would like to know how you keep that box car on the track without derailing, especially when you plow into the train.
Keep up the great work!!
Very good as always.
Along with much of the helpful tips and tricks that MR has to offer, outtakes make codys office all the better and it gives the whole issue it’s own distinct individuality. Thanks for giving us a great show Cody and an excellent magizine MR staff!
Sorry, but I can’t watch these anymore. There is a pop up asking to store info on my computer (I don’t mind the first one). However, it takes bunches of clicks on decline before it shuts off. Then a few seconds later, it pops up again. This repeats every few seconds for the entire length. It has been this way for a few months. I give up. Too much hassle to watch.
Always helpful to a novice and these videos are just plain fun to watch. I can feel the positive vibes from you guys and they are one reason I’m configuring a small N scale layout. I simply love diorama and will continue to learn by watching yøur presentations. Great work MR!
Bill Channell:
Mine doesn’t do that, and I even have most cookies blocked.
For those of us who cannot afford the extra cost of Video Plus, I’d like to see Cody’ s Office weekly, as was done a year or so ago. It really gives extra value to the subscription and seeing Cody and gang every week makes one very anxious for Friday’s !!! MR is just the best there is, with railroading education, in information and entertainment!
I like the out take of "fall is when you think about building your first Model Railroader’
I think that Cody did an outstanding job in the above video. Please keep up the good work as all of us modelers need the information-we can always learn something.
Thanks Again
The outtakes are back. Yay! Great episode, Cody. Thanks.
For layout planning, what about the few layout design oriented CAD programs such as CadRail, 3rd Planit, RailModeller, etc.? While there’s a learning curve, it’s easy to modify a layout as you refine the track plan. IMHO, it’s a much easier process than using pencil and rulers.
I second, even third Steven Allens suggestion that you do a workshop on the PanPastel product. It looks intriguing as well as being a time saver.
To answer Mr Channell:
Actually the pop up is an Adobe pain in the neck “feature” which can be shut off by right clicking on the video and go to settings. Set it for the amount of space you are willing to allow (mine is zero) and then check the “don’t show again” box. This was irritating me too until I went into the help section for Adobe flash.
Keep up the good work Cody!
So…what happened to the viewer mail?
I’m a first time watcher. Nice job! Helpful - and the outtakes are great.
Two points:
a) Thank you for bringing back the out-takes!
b) You are wearing Autumn colors. Fall colors are black and blue…
What happened to the rest of the video - it was only 8:22 long?
