Are the tracks really all that close to any of the skyscrapers? Sounds like something best handled by a backdrop painting.
Nobody makes skyscraper kits. You can build your own out of Plexiglas, but jeffshultz’s statement is true–do the trains roll right next to the skyscrapers?
The things you’ll want to model are the things nearest the tracks–industries, yards, railroad facilities. Trains tend to roll through the older, scruffier parts of town, in most cases fairly far from the skyscrapers–or far enough away that modeling them is best done by a photo on the backdrop.
Down town Columbus Oh. has a lot of rail going close to what they call “skyscrapers”
They had a bad derailment and fire in one of the tunnels a few years back. Shut a big part of down town down untill hazmat got it cleaned up.As far as building kits you may want to look for some Dallas architecture firms that built the real thing. They may be able to tell you where to get the panels or parts they use to build their models.
That’s a BIG good luck on that one.
Contact some girl named Debby, I understand she did Dallas years ago. Maybe she can give you some help.
