Does anyone know where I can get modern, working N scale street lights? I mean the kind with the green metal standards with a continuous curve at the top terminating in the lamp. All the street lamps I can find in the hobby shops or Walthers catalog are either European or old-time or suitable for parks and stations. It’s frustrating that no one seems to have modern street lights.

I took a look on line at Walthers for the same thing. I’m talking HO but I know if Walthers carries it in HO, then Brawa also has it out in N. Check this out at Walthers on line, 186-5800. If this is the type of light you are looking for, then I suggest you contact them direct, just explain what you need, I have always found them very helpful.
Thanks for the reply. The Brawa 186-4586 in N scale seems to be the same as the HO 5800. The standard is about right, but not the lamp. It’s still a German prototype, not North American. Can’t figure out why no one makes a North American modern style. I’ll probably have to settle for something else eventually but I’ll keep looking.

Thanks for taking the trouble to dig out an old post and respond to it. Checked out the site. As Arnold says, “I’ll be back.”
My new site is www.modelstreetlighting.com Same products but new site.
Here’s another place to consider: http://www.njinternational.com/N%20street.htm
Thanks for the links, both of you. It was a bit of a surprise to see an old post pop up like that–but a pleasant one.
