moduler model railroad club

This is my first post here but I have been a N scale model railroader for 30 years! I am currently repurposing an old NP combination depot (yup, full scale) and have thought of installing some kind of a public model railroad display. Unfortunately I just don’t have time to put it together at the moment. Does anyone have experience or ideas on some kind of moduler “club” where the members would build them and display them in exchange for the cost of materials, or space to build them, or some type of arrangement like that? thanks

Craig

What is your location? there may be a group nearby.

Were I you, I would seek out a local group that’s into N-Trak modeling. They may already have a lot of the necessary modules, and would probably welcome having a permanent home.

In any event, I would stick to the N-track module standards, even if the work is eventually done from the ground up.

This is a link to a thread in the Layouts and Layout Building section:

It’s about a Free-MoN group in California, written and photographed by a great model builder who has constructed many of the modules. Free-MoN and its larger-scale counterparts are standards for module construction that allow enthusiasts who have never even met to get together and assemble vast serpentine layouts from their creations.
