My favourite is a small narrow gauge interurban running between northern Italy and Swizerland. In this case the acronym itself is the humourous part to English speakers.
Ferrovia =railway
Autonome = Independent
Regionale = regional
Ticinese = the locale province, Ticino.
If you are in northern Italy or Switzerland, it is a very impressive line with spirals, linking with the main line in Domdossola, just south of the Simplon tunnel.
