Well I dont know what the criteria, but I am surprised that in the Beverages sector that Messrs Anheuser-Busch are admired. They are certainly NOT admired this side of the pond. Perhaps if they were to fire all their lawyers, stop hassling one of the Czech Republic’s finest breweries that has a very similar name and trying putting some hops in their beer then people here might take them a bit more seriously.
Well, speaking of breweries and railroads (on this side of the pond).
I think it was George Will who once wrote that baseball should be played in the afternoons, with teams that travelled by train to get there and enjoyed with a glass of beer BREWED IN MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin.
People tend to believe because it’s advertised a lot, that it is the best,---- Busch beer is NOT the best beer in the U.S.---- McDonalds is NOT the best food in the U.S.---- Clothes made in Taiwan are not the best clothing in the U.S. etc. etc. etc.
“To create the top 20 and overall list of Most Admired Companies, Hay Group asked the 10,000 executives, directors, and securities analysts who had responded to the industry surveys to select the ten companies they admired most.”
