Movie Question

ok i remember this movie long ago i was young and i can’t remember the name but, the movie is these 2 old guys still a lone locomotive and go across the country with it. i remember it but no idea of title but year was late 80’s early 90’s

can some one help me find out the title here please![:)]

I think its called End Of the Line two men in arkansas steal a loco and head to chicago

yes! haha thats it! thanks!

“Long ago”? ? ? When you were young? ? ? the movie was out in 1988 and was reviewed as lousy, too much Disney-like. 1988 is a few years back, not long ago, that would be the U.S. civil war.

Long ago was when one could still see F units in service.

Are there still F units on Metro North?(NYC or Conn)

Long ago was before Burlington Northern swallowed up the GN.

Yes, New Haven FL-9’s.

They made a big comeback during the big snow storm last week - pulling newer equipment through the snow.[:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]

Long live the New Haven - long live the FL-9!!![:D][:D]

Good Goobly, 1988 is yesterday for me!

Last time I saw that movie was about 5 years ago. I think the locomotive was an ex-MoPac GP40 or 38, but please correct me if I’m mistaken. One of the actors is the man who currently does the Diabetic Supply commercials on television. Down to earth, “grandfather type”.[4:-)]

The one scene that to me was useless: [V] When the guys, upset with their employer, shoot up the locomotive! Made no sense at all. Was it a political statement against corporate America then? Perhaps, as with hollywood’s warped, hypocritical thinking…it wouldn’t be surprising.

Wilford Brimley? (I never saw the movie.) He was also a pretty convincing evil corporate-security type in “The Firm”.

Sorry to burst your bubble, kid, but 1988 was day before yesterday.

if 1988 was they day before yesterday i just graduated high school! would love to go to mr wayback machine and get more chessie units and more N&W and NKP steam shots!
stay safe
Joe

Long ago was when I had hair.
