MP15 sound question

ok, i want to get the MP15dc CNW when it comes out. i am 40 and been in DC for years. i have just built a 2x10 switching layout, and JUST got into DCC. i have MRC prodigy(not advanced), and to be honest with you i am -MORE- than happy with it. i really have no room to expand, so i dont see me upgrading to better DCC unit. heres the question: should i get the MP15dc with or without sound? will the sound work useing MRC prodigy? again, i am REALLY happy with prodigy for what i have. i just dont want to spend the extra money on the sound if it wont work. can anyone please answer this for me? I (and my wallet) would be greatful. ----i posted this late last night, bringing it back to the top in hopes for an answer. thank you, -Dean

I am not familier with the original Prodigy system. The main thing you need is the ‘function’ keys to access the sounds like the bell and air horn. Usually the engine sound just starts up when you dispatch the engine.

YES! ok, thank you for the answer jrbernier! yes i do have those functions on my hand held. i feel like a DCC dummy, but hey, after useing DC for all these years, DCC is new to me. i"ve been useing it for about a week now and i have to admit, I REALLY LIKE IT! looks like i"m going to save a little more and go WITH the sound version. thanks again.

Once you operate with sound you’re hook…[:D] I have notice sound gets on your nerves after 11/2-2 hours even turn down…
