MRC SOUND STATION 312

Any opinions from users of this sound package? I am operating a DCC system (NCE Power Cab), but I thought it would be good for additional sounds, and it would be fun for the kids.

Doesn’t anyone own this product?

very basic first generation system, does not connect to track, it’s a stand alone, but very kid friendy,
I would look at MRC’s syncro sound box #s 1022 steam, 1023 diesel, both which connet to track and sounds can be operated with included controller, or from your throttle functions, and can be MU’ed to specific locos.

Sound Station 312. Very limited sound on sound. The unamplified sounds are much better when passed through an amplifier. There is some use for background sound, but again very limited. The Syncro sound box, while not very much better does attach to your track and has adjustable exhaust rates. It can also be connected to a DCC system so that it’s sound work through the DCC system.

Hi,
I have one and it’s great when people come over to see the layout. Since I don’t have any engines with sound in them, for $50.00 this was a great investment. People love it and therefore, it can help promote our great hobby.

Hope this helps.

Thank you all for your input. My layout is DCC, but I just wanted an easy method for generating some background sound on the layout.

I use their farm sounds one and my fiancee and her family love it. I do too! Great investment for the money. I cut the wires on mine and hid the speakers in barns and stuff so the sounds seem to be literally coming from nowhere. I plan on purchasing the train sounds one because my only other option for N scale is the Bachmann diesel horn oil tank, and that isn’t really an option!

I have one and since the layout is on the dinning room table the sound works well in the small space. The fun part is that my friends two year old son now says All Aboard when they ask him if he wants to come see me. Phil

I’am just getting into dcc after having dc for a few years. I have mrc syncro sound box and getting nce power cab, I do know the basic wiring for dcc 2 for speaker 2 for track, but I’am lost to how to program sound on cab control [if i can ] or do i still use sound bottons. I thought i read on another site you can control sound with cab control. I’ll be thankful for any help on this issue
