MRC Synchro Diesel Sound Box

Hello,

Has anyone bought one of these yet? This is the item that is advertised on the back page of this month’s Model Railroader.

What I read of it, it seems like a good alternative to one like me who has a DC layout and wants digital sound for all my soundless locomotives.

Steve

I posted this thread several weeks ago (check MRC synchro sound) as I am in the same boat as you and thought it looked like a good idea. Several people suggested that if you didn’t mind having your sound come from a single location it might be worth a try. My layout is relatively small so I think it would work for me. Does any one know what they’re worth?

I am in the same boat as you. My layout is small, roughly a 5’X9’, so having sound come from one location is not really a problem with me. Eventually I would like to get locomotives that produce their own sound, but that is out of my budget as of now.

I have the MRC 2000 power pack and I use two speakers under the table it sounds ok![^]The sound has an sync control on it.

I used to own the 1st MRC Soundstation, and the kids loved it, but sound equipped locomotives are the way to go.

Got a few Questions on this,

1.Can you Press & Hold Down the Button for the Air Horn And will it make a Continouse Sound of th3 Horn just like a Real one Dose.

2 Dose it hook up too a Power Pack & do you wire the Speaker too the Power Pack.

3.What is the Warrenty on this Item.

Thanks for the Replies.

#1 - Yes, you can hold down the button and it will sound like a continuous horn.

#2 - Yes, it connects to the power pack. You can also connect it to a DCC controller and control it through the DCC controller. No, the speaker does not connect to the power pack. It connects to the MRC unit.

#3 - Limited warranty, that’s all I know.

my layout is 2ftx4ft and I baught one 3years ago and works great you can hook up stereo speakers also and adjust different sounds well worth it if your dc like me

I “baught” you didn’t know that this thread was dead for 6 years? 380790575213
