MSTS Trains

Ive had this game for a while but i cant find any freeware to download to enhance the gameplay, any one know of some good webpaeges to download from.

Thanks
Nick

If you go to Train Artisan www.trainartisan.com , they have a few free download items (they also do paid-for add-ons but they have a small freebies area). RS11s (good pack that one - you also get hoppers and a caboose), a set of Via streamline passenger cars, and a CP “Holiday Express” can be had along with a steamer. Also try www.3dtrains.com for a very nice F7 A&B set.

www.train-sim.com
It’s a really good one. Sometimes it’s hard to login, nd they kick you off after an amount of time, but in the last 5 days, I’ve downloaded over 200 patches from them!

Go to www.train-sim.com and search for upsteam.zip Its is great and it has like 3 Bigboys, 3 Challengers, and 3 FEF Northerns. It also has a whole set of yellow passenger cars. Then look for the 2 patches for them.

Hey guys, what does it mean when it says "unzip the files into C:/Program Files/Mic…?
I’m such a newbie at this…
Matthew

I got some cars from train-sim.com but they are not on my game. They are in the MSTS file but not in the game. Why is this?

This is what I have been able to figure out so far.

To unzip a downloaded folder double click on the folder to open it. Right click then select copy. Find the Trainset folder inside the Microsoft Games folder. I think it is under Train Simulator then right click on Trainset folder and select Paste. This will copy the needed files or unzip them to the correct place. There is another way to unzip but I find this to be easier for me.

To find a car or loco you need to make a consist. I use Microsoft’s Paint shop to make a consist. If you have it then remember to raise your screen settings one notch up from 640X800 then open Paint Shop. Click on the Consist Editor. From there it is pretty easy. The hard part is figuring out what the names are. Some of them can be crazy. Hope this helps a little.

i see you are having trouble, a lot of you too.
First thing first. If you want to learn how to do this stuff, go to www.train-sim.com and go to the forum area, get a login name, and then ask Q’s there. I know some of you can only get freeware, but i suggest getting atleast one payware product. Either and engine pack or a route, which includes cars and engines. www.mapleleaftracks.com is a great place for routes. the Niagra Corridor, is a CN route, and its really good.

Alec

Thank you. I will let you know if I need any more help.
