MTA marks centennial of Brooklyn’s first subway line

The trains that will be operating this weekend are the A/B Standards of 1913, the D-type Triplexes of 1923, the IND R1/9 cars of 1930-1940 which performed in-service testing on the BMT before going into service, and the 1950s era R-11 which ran most of its life on former BMT lines.

Mr. Simpson: Do you have any more info on schedules and endpoints of the Nostalgia operation other than Brighton Beach as a focal point?

The trains will operate from Noon - 4 both days of the weekend.

The Standards are only the ‘B’ types as the ‘A’ types were scrapped 50-60 years ago.

R 1-9 cars operated on the BMT for decades.

I rode on these cars years ago and will be a thrill to see them again.
