I got this mth southern daylight with proto sound 2.0 and i am getting no power to the motor or head light and no sound at all from the tender i tryed replacing the battery and still notheing and i have check all wiering and all complete and still nothing my next guess is the sound board beacuse i can put a jumper wire on the motor and it takes off and put power to the tender and it makes some sound but i dont know where to go from there the engine is past its warrenty and sound boards are 200 dollars for it that almost what the i can buy a new one for witch i really dont have the money please somebody help because im lost or does any one have a sound board that i can buy for this engine

Are you using an MTH transformer? Please don’t be using a Lionel CW-80 with any PS-2 locomotives.
My next guess is the circuit board that provides power to everything, not the sound board, has gone bad or has a loose connection somewhere or even a wirew is broken off. One thing to check real quick is the color dots on the engine and tender underneath, do the color dots match? If not you may have a mis-matched engine & tender.
