Hey, that’s cool.
A couple of friends and I redid Cheap Sunglasses by ZZ Top and turned it into a country western ho-down song. It was hystarical. (BTW, I’m not big on country,…at all.)
Ditto. As a musician, I think all music as something to like even if it is not your primary style.
I started as a punk rocker - Ramones, Clash, etc. But as time went on I have explored just about every musical style. Each one has certain elements that bring a joy and a challenge in playing. Therefore if I take the time to learn it, I love it.
Saying all of that, I love Rush. Just something about their compositions, individual skill and the ability to blend it together.
Recently, I have been reviewing and studying early Led Zepellin. Trying to see how they combined blues and early rock to create their sound.
Although, I still have a soft spot for punk rock. Just something about the raw emotion and simplicity also it reminds me that I was young once.
Well, i guess i’ll break the mold here.
I like tons of different stuff.
Rap is my primary likeing, but dont be fooled.
I listen to classic rock, 70’s 80’s, and the 60’s.
I also like 50’s rock & roll, and 40s and 30’s big band.
Alec
everything rap and metal.
Disturbed, Evansblue, Killswitch Engage, SOAD, Korn, Godsmack, RAGE, Bullet For My Valentine, Audioslave, Trapt, thats basically all my favorites for metal.
Rap- Gunit, Bubba Sparxxx, Daddy Yankee, Gunot, Lloyd Banks, Tupac, Notorious, 3-6 Mafia, Eminem, Easy E, BTS, Akon, Yound Jeezy, Fat Joe, Don Omar and thats about it
I HATE ICP!!!
Classic Rock and Country.
Stan.
Ohh where does one start??
Old stuff from Glenn Miller to Louie Jordon (choo choo ch’boogie), Some country (Randy Travis,Clint Black, Toby Keith) 70’s & 80’ rock (AC/DC to ZZ Top)
Gotta love Grand Funks “Locomotion”, GnR’s “Nightrain”, or Blackfoots “train, train”, plus soooooooo many other train related songs!
Pretty much everything except classical [zzz] and Rap [censored]
I’m a classical musician by profession, so my answer’s pretty clear on this one. I may be the only person in the world who runs my freights to the Second Movement of Copland’s Third Symphony (listen to it, it sounds just like a trio of Rio Grande articulateds hefting a freight over Tennessee Pass). Good stuff and not nearly as off-putting as you might think. Next time you’re running your premier passenger train at full whallop, put on Wagner’s “Ride of the Valkyries”–it’ll blow your mind!

I like a large variety of music, but I definitely prefer heavy metal. I am the drummer for my metal band(we can’t decide on a name for it and we’re looking for someone who can sing, because God knows none of us can…LOL), and we play a lot of old Metallica, a lot of old and new Megadeth, some Iron Maiden, some Testament, and a couple of Anthrax tunes. It’s more fun than I’ve had in years AND it is a GREAT workout.
I enjoy too many performers and musicians to list here, but some favorites are Moody Blues, Yes, ELP, Genesis, Pat Metheny & Lyle Mays, Michael W. Smith & Aaron Copeland. I play keyboards in a worship band at church, and among the pile of synthesizers in my keyboard rig is the synthesizer for railfans…the Ensoniq SD-1!
The BEATLES, John Lennon,George Harrison, little Paul McCartney, verry little Ringo.
Metal and Jazz(I play the Saxaphone).
Metal : System of a Down, Distrubed, Mudvayne, Avenged Sevenfold, Some Metalica, and old day Greenday(The Basketcase and Longview days).
Jazz : Anything big-band or saxaphone oriented.
Sister Machine Gun and Christ Analogue are among my faves. The latest stuff from Oz that I have checked out is Nonplus, and it isn’t too bad at all!!
Cool!
bwilcox, have you ever heard of Triumvirat? A good progressive rock band
in the Yes and ELP vein. I’m into progressive rock, classical music and
certain New Age artists such as Kitaro, Jean Michel Jarre and
Trans-Millennia Consort.
[#ditto]
Throw in some Bagpipes and highland drums also { really ticks off the people next door }. Godsmack Ect, and anything loud, thrash music like “six feet under”. Can’t stand country or rap for that matter.
Also can’t stand these new whinnie bands that think their punk bands. Bands like…you know the whinner bands.

Dragon River Steel Corp {DRSC}
Heavy metal? Rap music (an oxymoron, by the way)? How about some real music - ever hear of Count Basie? Hands down the best big band ever assembled. It’s simply impossible to listen to that driving swing and not smile.
My musical talents being a bit more, um, limited than Mr. Basie’s. Here’s my band: www.clownband.com
Yes, I know all too well who and what you speak of.
Give me some Hank Williams Jr, WIllie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, etc and I’m a happy man.
Also like southern rock and 70s rock.
Hehehe you’d like a punk band called the “Dickies” they did punk covers of ‘Silent Night’, ‘Nights in White Satin’, Sabbaths "Paranoid’ and the even the TV themes from ‘Gigantor’ and ‘The Banana Splits’. fun stuff!
Personally everything from Beethoven to Black Flag
…exceptions being anything Disco, Yanni, and Micheal Boulton which are treated like Bird Flu[xx(]
