My cat's been working on the railroad!

Does anyone have pets named after railroads or famous railroad legends? My cat’s name is Chessie. Named after the Chesapeake and Ohio railroad. I think that that one may show up a few more times.

My cat sleeps on my railroad. I call him “Get Off”!

We once had a cat named Chessie as well, and one called “Traina”.

The current cat (“Pookie” - rhymes with Mookie) likes to use the opening for the staging to get under the layout. Makes for an occasional tipped car or other chaos while I’m not looking. Eventually I’ll get that closed down so she doesn’t fit, but for now…

When I got my puppy, a West Highland White Terrier, my brother jokingly said I should name her Chessie. We had a good laugh and I actually tried it out (though I’d already decided on her name weeks before I was to receive her). Needless to say she seemed decidedly unamused with being referred to with a feline’s moniker–and ‘Abby’, as planned, became her name. I think if she could speak English for five minutes she’d probably tell me that I was a ‘donkey’s butt’ for ever considering naming her after a cat![(-D]

A friend of mine once had three cats: Chessie, Peake, and Ohio.

I thought he should have gotten a fourth cat, and named it “Purr Marquette”.

That’s both funny and soooooooo perfect![:D]

Two cat’s–Chessie and Scooter. Scooter AKA Mr. Purr.

“Mr. Purr
That’s the name
That name again
Is Mr. Purr”

And as Linda Ronstadt sang,

“The Purr King is a loser and I think he is a boozer.”

We just can’t get Scooter to wear the ‘Mr. Purr’ jacket.

I have two cats. I was going to name one of them Chessie, but I decided to name him Sylvester (his middle is Chester, no not because it rhymes, but for Chessie).

I have a picture of my brothers cat beside what else a train of chessie rolling stock.Figgi was fun.

Tell your DOG that Mookie’s given name is ABIGAIL ANN or ABBY for short. She wouldn’t answer to that, but did to Mookie - so now whose the donkey’s butt? [:X]

Jen

PS - Good choice for a name, however!

[8D] Chalk up another one for Willy2! I usually go back to the day before and read in order, but when I saw the title - after I quit laughing - I had to read you out of order. And the Mookie is never Out of Order! [}:)]

You need a couple more - like Stop It and Get Out of There and my favorite - “I didn’t bother you while you were eating…” (applies to dogs as well)

Thanks for the feedback Mookie! When Abby decides to ‘talk’ to me about my lapse in judgement and taste (“The very idea, calling me Chessie! You worthless cur!”, she recently barked out), I’ll be sure to pass along your compliment.[(-D]

Sorry, all I got is a Chow Chow named Oompa Loompa.

But dont tell Mr Wonka or he’ll send him back to the factory!

[:(]Come to think of it…I could never have cat to name Chessie–I’m allergic to cats.[:(]

Thinking about getting another dog soon, so I’ve been considering names. Chessie has come up, but I prefer SOO. If we get a boy dog I was thinking Innis (as in NS). Wisconsin Central doesn’t roll of the tongue, and UP might get confusing when trying to housebreak the poor thing. Who knows maybe the girlfriend will decide on Spot.[^] She is the boss.

I dunno…you could always name your dog BO or Katy

Or

Penn Central…

and have him roll on his back and go belly up

Penn Central - That was funning. But just think from his ashes great things may raise!

Oh Dan! You are at it again!

Come on boy… …come on Conrail…that’s a good boy…here’s your BONE (Baltimore and Ohio North East…better known as CSX)
