My first outdoor train

Finally got something up and running!

Hey we all gotta start somewhere [;)]

My first layout was just as big, I just piled a bunch of rocks around to make a rock garden layout and added some simple birdhouses found at discount stores.

Just get something down and running, and then grow from there [:D]

Most all of us started with a small loop and grew from there. Remember, around here we like to see pictures of progress. Now for the real question, “Is the GRR for you or the kids?” Both I hope. Enjoy them while they are small, they grow up entirely too fast.

Hi Good for you I started with a dog bone for the first summer then it gets bigger more track sidings and extra loops After 4 years i`ve about 400ft of track several locos and rolling stock. Start small and enjoy it

That’s really nice, Mooz. I’ve started small, too, but indoors. With my disabilities, the heat down here tears me up. It gets hot as a sumbee in middle Georgia in the summer. I’m just gonna keep it in my 9.5’X9.5’ spare room. It’s all good if you’re havin fun!

Not sure how much progress there be, we are in a rental while we go through the chapter 7. The kids really love the gondola  This train is for the wife and kids, I have O scale packed away awaiting another layout…

I fully understand about the heat, I live in central Arizona!

How WE need a Google account to view Photos on the Forums. When I click on the photo to see the larger photo,( think it is called LINKED).

The inital photos are 1-1/4 in square above.

Some reply photos are larger.

I attempted to view these photos. All I get is a very pixilated photo.

Then I see the message that if I want to view the photos. I have to open a Google account.

I don’t have google account and I get them to enlarge. Yes they come on pixellated, then about a second later they clear up!

Spike: What browser are you using? What add-ons have been applied to your browser? I do not have a Google account, I do not get the message you talk about, I “right click” on the photo header and select “Open in new tab” and most photos cover my entire screen in a fraction of a second.

I am not sure.

I click on the photo. Norminally that is all I do to seen photos presented here.

I edited the post to make the thumbnails bigger.
