My new Layout

My wife just got a new Kitchen. The Good News, I got the new basement !!!

I’m planning my new layout. 25+ years ago i hand-laid some HO track. I was happy with the outcome.

I would like to hand lay my O track. The only article I can find is "Dave and Elliot discuss hand laid

track" in this forum. It is 5 years old, any new ideas ? What to use & where to find roadbed ? Where

can I find or make huge quantities of ties?

Thanks

Paul

[#welcome] back.

Here’s one source of O ties http://www.mtalbert.com/

Midwest makes cork roadbed http://www.midwestproducts.com/ and Homabed makes Homasote roadbed http://www.homabed.com/.

Fastrack makes tools and jigs for building turnouts http://www.handlaidtrack.com/ as well as carrying ties

Enjoy

[#welcome] aboard !

Just call me a heretic, but have you looked at the Atlas track ? Really good stuff in both 2 and 3 rail configurations. [^]

[#welcome] Paul. With a basement to work with, you have conquered the first major frontier…space. “Inner space,” that is. Hope to see you posting more as you ponder your track and switches selection, and start mapping out a layout strategy.
