I hope you all don’t laught at my work and this sin’t the best picture of my layout but it shows it from above. It looks really cool from eye level, I will bve posting those pictures layout after i resize them.

Does anyone have anything to say about my layout? I guess i am really dis=liked if no one even says anything about my layout…o well back to cleaning my track.
Sorry for the delay, I was putting windows in my slab shop. You have a nice start on the layout. Looks like good work, and you have some opperational opportunity. Keep the picts coming. It is good to see progress.

Looks almost exactly like my first layout when I was a kid. Except I had a Bachman Big Hauler train set on the floor, and some of that fake green outdoors matting for grass. Lincoln Logs and Playmobile buildings. And GI Joe to keep the bandits away. Keep up the good work.

All the brio is there to use space it will be gone when i get scale telley poles and trees thanks for the nice feedback. i will be posting only my pictures from now on and i will have pics of my marx soon.

UPChuck, what is the platform size? I like your track layout, for now I’m stuck on 44"x60" platform but would like to redo mine. I’ll have to post a pic of mine before I put it in storage while I move. 
Can I make a photography suggestion?
Turn off the flash. Instead, turn the room lights up bright, and bring in a floor lamp for more if you need it. Try to brace the camera against some solid object, like a chair, or use the delay timer feature (the button you press so you can put the camera on a table and run out in front to take your own picture) to reduce camera jiggle.
The flash, particularly when doing close-up work, produces the bright highlighting of the foreground, and tends to darken the background. It also gives unnatural coloring that that eye doesn’t normally see.
You’re doing well on the scenery, and it deserves to be shown “in the best light.”

If you’re having fun you’re doing it right.
Next time you get a cardboard box (the kind that wine comes in is good, and some liquor stores will give you the box for the asking) try taking it apart carefully so that it is one long piece. You can cut off the “flaps.” Get some cheap blue paint and paint it blue. Prop it up along the back and maybe that left side and you have yourself a nice backdrop that will make your eyelevel views even better.

It sure beats mine too! We often forget that having fun is what this hobby is all about.
I actually started a new layout, it’s almost double in size… But it’s got a ways to go.
I don’t know how long you been in the hobby but looks better than mine did say 8 months ago. Dig around and you will find a posting by Arthill on making trees. I have made around 62 tress for $40.00 and still can make around 20 more with out buying any more supplys.
You have one up on me, you have a coaling tower.
