My solution to Spline. Something a bit different

This maybe revolutionary! I’ll let you decide. Anyway though I haven’t anchored the “Spline Trestles” there seem to be a lot of strength to this so far. Bending was not a an issue as I used 5/8th ABS witha a High Pressure coating. Once everything is leveled and secured I will be gluing 1/2" foam board ontop and then the cork roadbed. This system is very light weight the outer curved pipe is 32" the inner most is 26".

Very very nice!!! It’s a nice flowing roadbed you have there. I’m really looking forward to the next step. Please keep us updated on the progress.

Thanks Electro! You can take the credit as it was your original thread that motivated this! Unfortunately the

“Ta-Do” List is taking priority here so keep your eyes open.

After looking at the “transitional” section i will have to work on the upper single track Spline trestles and make the hole wider. I’ll have to think on this one.

What did you use and how did you make the spline trestles?

Trestles are made from 3/4" Verola pine. spacing of the holes/tubes corresponds with the clearance of a “Tortoise” switch machine.

Tubing is Superex 100 psi 1/2" I.D. 5/8" O.D. made in Canada by Bow.

I’m getting a strong sense of Deja Vu with this. I’ve seen this type of construction before… somewhere… I just can’t place it right now.

There was an article in MR about this several years ago.

Reminds me of O scale 3 rail track. It would be EZ to cut the bases on a slight angle for that super elevated look. Pretty good idea.

Looks nice. IS it bigger than you need so you don;t have to rerebuild it?

Actually I picked this up from this thread of a few weeks ago

And it’s endorsed by… dare I say it[:-^]

Morgan! If I has to rebuild this curve for the 5th time. It’s going to the Curb, Lock stock and barrel!
