N-Scale Bachman E-Z Track

My son has taken up an interest in my N-Scale trains. I’d like to build him a simple 3’ x 6’ layout that we can slide under his bed. I’d also like to try out one of the products like the Bachman E-Z track. Does anyone have any pros/cons for the Bachman product vs the Life-Like product vs the Atlas one?

Thanks for any advice.

Welcome to the forums.

As long as the track is nickel silver, not steel, any should be alright. Someone may chime in in the quality of the turnouts. I don’t know of any significant differences. The one thing is that they are not interchangeable. My suggestion is to find out what your local hobby shop has and as long as no one has a real knock on that brand, get it. This way if you need one more turnout, pack of track or whatever, it will be easily accessable.

Hope the young fellow stays interested.

Good luck,

Richard

We thought we had the “cats pajamas” when we got the N scale Bachmann EZ Track.

BUT: we found the turnouts {switches} to be a BIG hassel and we gave up onthem. APparently they need tweeking, filing and such to make them work good.

The concept is good, but the carry-through is greatly lacking.

We put them away and got into Atlas tracks…

If you want some I can send you a whole lot of it. Send me PM {Private message by clicking “start converstation” at the bottom of my psot and we can talk}

NOTE: I will NOT sell it to you!!! No selling is allowed here! I would gladly give them to someone who wants to use them. I hate to throw them away.

my 9yr old son and I just gave up on O gage and just recieved a small Bachmann set and we are hooked… we are also interested in switching to atlas tracks how does one pm

Many folks have given up on EZ Track because of the poor quality and reliability of the turnouts (track switches), as noted. OK for a loop under the Christmas tree …

For “click-track” style track, KATO Unitrack is much better, though correspondingly pricier.

Use the Atlas.
