N scale Daylight by Kato?????????????????

Yes! If you are N scale and you want a Daylight complete train plus GS4, then look no more.

Let us know what you think about this.

Looks like a red banner day for N scale SP fans!

I have had a Kato SP passenger set for many years, always hoped they would bring out a GS-4 (if I remember right, they did have it in their catalogue back in the late 80’s?, as coming), at first I ran it with Life-Like PA’s, then Con-Cor brought out their (rather expensive, especially here in Australia) GS-4, it’s a great loco, although very track sensitive, so I usually run with a pair of Kato PA’s now.

Problem is - I don’t want to get rid of the existing set, but finances are going to make it hard to go with the new set - somehow, someway though, I will get them.

Would this work - I have severe medical problems, I am on my last legs, the doctor says if some kind soul sends me a Kato GS-4 and passenger set (14 cars!), I might just pull through.

Bring on a Cab Forward Kato.

It has to be the best announcement that I can think of for the N scale SP fans!

And Kato is doing it.

Wow! I may have to reconsider my commitment to HO scale. The MSRP’s for the locomotive and cars are entirely reasonable (and no doubt will be discounted when they hit the market) . The GS-4 alone has an MSRP roughly $100 cheaper than Con-Cor’s, but will have the correct inside bearing pilot truck. Con-Cor’s uses the mechanism from the GN S-2 and includes the outside bearing truck from that model.

I model BNSF and NS in Modern day…but I think I’m gonna have to make an exception and run an SP Daylight Excursion on my layout from time to time.

Great news for N-scale, but someone really ought to show Mr. Kato (or someone in that company) a map of the US…

…Yes, there is something east of the Mississippi! [swg]

I know about the high tax states; do they still have any railroads running back there?

Sure we do - when they stay on the rails…

The outside frame on the Con-Cor front truck can be removed to fix the problem.

I always did like the articulated passenger cars. [tup][tup] Now I won’t have to try to 'bash a few together!

Thanks

Are these pictures from the show in Detroit???/

If they are, can you get pictures of the Athearn booth also, maybe the FEF-2 or FEF-3.

Thanks The F45 and FP45 would be great also.

I know that, but why bother if the new Kato engine will have the correct truck out of the factory?

Andre

I agree and the Kato should run like a Kato!! It should be great.
