N scale European?

I model N scale and I have 140+ pieces of american prototype locos and rolling stock. I’ve been looking into modeling german steam in particular, I’ve been tossing this idea around for a while now and I think I’m going to sit on it until I have built up the money reserves and have my college class chosen and payed for. I want to model bigger german steam and a couple smaller locos. I was thinking of modeling during WWII and slightly after WWII. what should I look for in rolling stock?

thank you for responses, I will be at work until who know how late so I may not respond immediately

Hi BN#24,

The era you are interested in is the end of Epoch II and the beginning of Epoch III. Refer to this link for an explanation of Epochs (era’s) in the history of German Railways.

There is a very good forum for German Railways and modelling German Railways.

There are plenty of internet shops for you to check out

Many of the models are identified with the appropriate Epoch. Best of luck with your search.

right thank you. just a quick bit of the reason behind this foray into european RRing. My Oma(german grandma) was in germany until the 60’s when my Opa(grandpa) was on tour in germany they met etc. then there is my mothers dad who while on his tour as a mail guard for german trains while he was in service he told me about all sorts of stuff, like small dock engines and the larger road engines.
