A friend gave me an A+B Intermountain F7 unit in Rock Island paint. They run great, but I model Union Pacific. Does any other manufacturer’s F7 shells fit the Intermountain chassis? I know Bachmann shells are just a bit too long, but I don’t know about any others. I’d really like to be able to run these units; they are super smooth in slow speeds.
Intermountains website shows Union Pacific F7A’s and B’s in both HO Scale and N Scale.

They don’t list parts foe sale, but you might be able to purchase UP shells from them.
Or, you might find someone willing to trade locomotives or shells.
The Rock Island had trackage rights on the UP’s Limon Subdivison per agreement executed in 1889. There may have been agreements in other areas.
You might also try the nscaleyardsale yahoo group. Lots of great N Scale items trade hands here are excellent prices.
A few years ago I purchased a MILW FT A-B set from a hobby shop that had them on clearance. I model the CNW, so it didn’t really fit my scheme. Then the unthinkable happened, I had a derailment and both engines took a 4 foot plunge. There was some damage, so I called Intermountain to see if I could buy replacements. I was able to buy new shells from them, in CNW livery.
