N scale replacement motors

For gears, I’d look at Northwest Shortline. I’ve never had a problem with anything I’ve regeared with NWSL gears. They also have motors, but they might be too large for your purposes.

For motors, A-line has one that should do the trick for N-scale.

Northwest Short Line would be the way to go with gears. They have gears of all different materials in all different sizes, so there’s a good chance they’ll have what you need. They also have a small motor (10x25mm) that should fit most N scale stuff.

The small motor offered by A Line is good for wide-bodied steam and diesel, but at 12mm wide it’s too large for hood-type diesels and small steam.

Hollywood Foundry in Australia has the best selection of Mashima motors that I’ve seen, with five different sizes available that will fit N scale engines (three that will fit in hood unit diesels). http://www.hollywoodfoundry.com/ (scroll about half-way down to find the motor selection)
