Please, can anyone tell me, what year did the NYC stop placing the color code triangle on the lower left corner, of their box car sides?

From what I read they never stopped doing it until the merger. They were still adding paint manufacturers to the code list up to 1967 which would indicate that.
Also the paint code was used on all cars except maintenance of way cars.
