NCE Power House Pro Problem

Hi,
I have just got an NCE Power House Pro system. When I power it up the cab and unit switch on and off in quick succession. The LED’s lash and the display powers up then goes blank every 0.5 seconds or so. I am using a 16V AC power supply (1 amp?)
Anyone any idea as to what the problem is?

#1, your input power supply is probably not enough. If it’s an old train set power pack - good luck if it actually puts out 1 amp. Do yourself a favor and get a good 5 amp power supply to go with the system - the one NCE sells is one of the least expensive ones around, $30 or less.

#2, you might have a short somewhere in the track wiring. Disconnect the track wires from the PH Pro and see if the same thing happens.

I have the PowerCab, and if there is a short somewhere on the track I experience the same thing. If you fix the short it then powers up normally.
