Came across this while trying to find the ‘updated’ prospective changes to the East River Tunnel ‘amelioration’ project (has it really taken 2 decades to start repairing storm damage??!)

Kind of surprising they are now doing it rather than doing it when they first found the issues

They started making repairs to the East River Tunnels as soon as the sea water was pumped out after superstorm Sandy in Oct 2012. Now they are rehabbing it. You will have to ask Congress why they didn’t fund rehab 12+ years ago.
