need a gear tower cap for proto 1000 truck

i need a gear tower cap for a proto pa-1 truck. i am guessing that the 1000 and 2000 trucks are the same, and the caps for the 2-axle and 3-axle trucks are the same.

The gear tower caps should be the same has a bluebox which you can buy from athearn or take from a parts unit.

I’m not aware of a 2 axle PA? Exactly what model do you have?

No, they’re different.

I needed a worm gear cap for a Genesis F unit and had to buy the whole truck at $25 from Athearn as they would not sell the gear cap separately. Maybe the “blue-box” style are available separately? Still, they won’t fit a Proto 2000 PA.

Proto 1000 is the same has a blue box but I have never worked on a Proto 2000.
