Carl,
That looks pretty good to me just as it is. I think it gives the impression of some high, fast water, and that is what I think you could expect with the rock on both sides being so steep. Nice work.
Tom
Yea. In a rock canyon like that sides would be steap. That looks good. Maybe just a tiny bit of lighter shading close to the edge.
That is one great bank and river. Here in Minnesota there would be three additions.
At high water there would be a lot of logs and branchs floating down and they would be hung up on places where the river turns and rocks form natural hooks. You have a couple af great rocks like that.
Except at extreem high water there would be sand bars at places where the rocks produce eddies. There might even be a little grass growing at the back of those sand bars. They would be very small but would make the scene look at little more complete.
There would be some rocks sticking out of the water.
I am looking forward to seeing where you go with that great scene.
I’d suggest wearing a life jacket and a helmet if you’re on that river.
That’s a really nice effect. What did you use for the water surface? You’ve really caught the flavor of a fast-moving stream.
I used casting plaster and sped it with my fingures .i havent put down any reisen yet .im not sure if im going to .maybe paint the top of the small waves with white paint?
Carl.
In a river “canyon” like that about the only thing missing is chunks of big rocks that has fell from the rock walls over the years…
