I’m hoping someone can point me to a source for plans or drawings of the Kansas City Highline bridge over the Kansas River. This is the double-decker railroad bridge operated by the Kansas City Terminal Railway, built in 1917.
Obviously at this point no one is able to help you. I also suspect that if you start asking railroad or city officials about sturctural drawings of a bridge you might get visited by someone from Homeland Security. Same if you started shooting pictures without approval. I would tred very lightly if contacting either one and make certain they know of your intentions.
All good points. I am a little surprised that such a much-photographed and distinctive bridge (how many double-deck double-tracked bridges are there?) hasn’t appeared in plan form at some point. MR, here’s your chance!
I probably don’t have room for a full-sized version in any case. I think I can build a compressed approximation just working from photos. Probably better to do that rather than attract official attention. It pains me to no end to have to take that into consideration.
Thanks for the reply.
