i’ve been railroading since i was 8 and I am now 15…and I am still having trouble with making hills and tunnels and mountains…if i had a few of these babies…it would really give my layout alot more life. any tips…all will help.
thanx
I generally use a webbing made of cardboard and hot glued to form the hillsand valleys in and around a tunnel portal. i usually use Woodland scenics portals and glue fins to the inside at the edge. To these I attach the other webbing mentioned earlier.
One of the things I would do, is to check out some of Dave Frary’s books usually available at your local hobby shop or do a web search. He does a great job with pictures to demonstrate what I am talking about.
Pay attention to the inside of the tunnel to keep it dark and most importantly to protect the track during installation. Absolutely make sure the track is smooth and functioning well prior to doing the tunnel. Consider also depending on how long it is whether you will need access. should a train derail.
