Hi once again!
In doing the testing of my under construction HO DCC powered layout, I’ve come across a problem that I need your advice on.
One of my two BLI RSD-15 locos finds a dead spot (frog?) on two Atlas code 100 #6 turnouts. Yet, it can go over other turnouts (same kind) with no problem whatsoever.
The thing is, the other RSD-15 has no problem whatsoever, nor do any other locos going over the two turnouts in question.
Any ideas???
Thanks,
Mobilman44
Use a test light and check for continuity at the pivot point where the point and lead rail contact the stock rail. You may be losing power there. Or the wheels of that loco may be making a short where the two frog rails come together. Those rails are very close and the wheels may be bridging tham causing a short
Are the wheels in gauge? Is the turnout in gauge? Is the frog sitting level with the rails? Does the RSD15 have free movement in regaurds to the trucks? Do your point rails have power? Do both trucks on the RSD15 have electical continuity to the PC board? Are the plugs going to the board all the way in?
…just a few things to check…
