I bought the Blair Line “Cash Mine” kit. I now need some ore cars.
The prototype mine supposedly used a very long cable system to get the ore to the building. I don’t know if a side-dump car is right.
The Walthers catalog seems to imply their ore cars are relatively modern. I plan on heavily weathering the mine and want old-style ore cars (pre-WWII).
Anbody have a source for old ore cars?
Tichy Train Group sells kits for 22’ wood ore cars. 293-4012 2-car set for 14.50 or 293-6012 12 car set for 75.00. Very easy to built and great quality. Check them out!

i’ve built a couple of them (still have 20 unbuilt) and they’re not easy , certainly nowhere close to shake the box . however they are fun to build , and they look great
