This is an official Amtrak video, right? Does that mean the name “Phase VII” is official?
I had assumed that these phases were just names given by fans for convenience. However, while I know I through IV, I can’t tell V from VI.
Love the new look!

You can still have input on the Superliner version of the scheme. The RFP is open until July 16th…
Well Amtrak is not going to have a stock IPO and will probably never join the magnificent 7 on the NYSE. Just kidding.
On the complimentary side, Amtrak has made a few innovations. Not much but a few along the way.
Many folks do not remember the old ticketing and train reservation system Amtrak started with. Carbon copy, hand written tickets and calling the local train depot to get a reservation and then you had to pickup the tickets from a will call type arrangement when you got to the station. Look at the process now. Long way from 1971.
I would presume from the Amtrak logo on the spokesperson’s hat. I have no idea though.
Now, now.

I checked, and yes, this is from the official Amtrak YouTube channel. As far as the actual cars go, while I think they look really good, I’m not sure about the green. If the locos had green I would get it, but it seems out of place at the end of the cars.
“ I’m not sure about the green. If the locos had green I would get it, but it seems out of place at the end of the cars.”
I agree. The green looks odd to me.
Also: green for coach, red for first class, blue for business class.
In the last scene of the video, you can see behind the employee
the handicapped accessible logo on a Navy Blue background.
Will navy blue be the standard color for this type
accommodation?
They played around with that green around the year 2000. Back when they were going to rebrand everything with “Acela this or Acela that”.
Now I kind of remember reading (although I could be wrong) how there was a recommendation after one of the wrecks to visibly mark locations of doors with design elements/color differences, etc. I wonder if this is a result of that?
