Do you like or Dis-like the new BNSF RAILWAY image.
Is BNSF conducting a poll to see who likes it or not[?] If not why would they care what we think[?] If we ALL do not like it do you think BNSF will change it[?]

At the risk of being called a traitor, I’m willing the say that the new BNSF image isn’t really that bad. While railroading has long been an industry steeped in tradition, it is a good idea to come up with something rather untraditional every so often.
I like it.

Open up the below link then open up the California November 2005 gallery & then look in the Barstow pix & you will find a close up shot of the new logo on a new GE loco.

The SBC to AT&T name change got me thinking, why don’t they just call themselves Santa-Fe and paint almost everything in the warbonnet scheme? Santa-Fe is probably the most recognized name in railroading and that paint scheme has been on so many toy trains, people who’ve never seen the real thing know what it is. Companies spend millions on advertising for name recognition. I still remember those TV commercials with the little Indian Boy saying ‘Santa-Fe, all the way’.
As a sales manager for a manufacturing business I have long felt that a little change every once in a while in an organization (such as sales territory geography or customer base changes) is good for an organization. Thus, I will vote in favor of the new image.
That’s a good thing. It seems as though as 95% of those who just hate this or hate that anymore. Hate Hate Hate.
Hate is a very strong word that we all use far too often, and dislike is a better choice. Human beings naturally are creatures of habit and resist change when it appears, and some of us are more adaptive than others and those of us who are tend to do better in many things and feel better about things in general. I recall my days commuting on Metro North into GCT and how panic striken folks would get on those rare days when the RR would change the track that their 5:05 p.m. depature would be assigned to…it was really something to see, but those adaptive souls would always think “There is always another train in a few minutes if I miss this one”.
It could be worse they could have changed their name to ENRON or TYCO. I do like the new logo. Remember change does happen for the better.
Well, I have liked it from the first day. Ok, so maybe I am weird.[:D] I was up at the BNSF crew exchange in Williams Arizona on the Trans Con this weekend and II was surprised too see how much rolling stock has the new logo on it. Couple different types box cars, and well-container cars too. It is catchy. Heck, even the maintenece trucks had the new logo on them. All though, I did not see any power with the new paint… Kinda hopeing to see one in person.
Best Regards

I HATE IT!!!
Stupid modernization- who are they trying to appeal to anyway?
I don’t mind the power swoop. I just like the red and silver better than orange.
NOT A WEDGIE FAN[:(!]
As long as it doesn’t say:Union Pacific,I could care less.
Heres a link to one in brand new paint, on it’s first revenue move…

I am personally one who believes that we need to remember the history that has brought us to this point. The Burlington, Frisco,Northern Pacific and certainly the Santa Fe all brought something to the table that ultimately gave us the BNSF. BUt I recognize that we live in a time of instantaneous gratification and in the corporate world it is " What are you going to give me NOW, not what you have done in the past" and that is a shame.
Ed that is a nice picture of the Schnabel car and really compliments the photos in Red Flashers thread.
I too liked the logo from the beginning, what I hate is people that hate it or want to live in the past.
I was in Polo for 4 days and just got back. I saw 10 ES44DC’s with the new logo( 4 were on their first trip, I saw a lot of well cars, 2 tank cars, and 1 grain cars with the new logo.
At night I took the flash-light out and watched the train go buy with it, it’s cool how the new logo on the well-cars( and other cars) are reflective.
I cannot say I care much for the new logo–I thought the BN Brunswick Green circle and blue Santa Fe cross was a perfect logo. But Matt Rose isn’t calling me up for marketing ideas so there you go.
It is not so bad when you consider all the motive power out there that is still in various BN schemes, SF War and Blue Bonnett, and H1, H2 schemes. If you look at UP, they’ve repainted much of the DRGW, SP, and CNW fleet–and patched over with the yellow patches and UP logos nearly everything else. At least the BNSF fleet has far more historical variety right now.
I really do like BNSF’s new image and logo. To me it represents BNSF moving ahead and building a positive environment for the coummnity. I do have to say that the new paint and logo look really good on the GEVOs. I do like change, sometimes.
There are sometimes in which I do look in the past and do ponder on the good ol’ days.
