new BNSF livery...

Pardon me if this has been posted before, but here’s the new BNSF livery.

is this for real?

It appears to be for real.

Yep, it’s definitely the real deal.

I got my answer, check out their new site…

To start off with, I’m not a big fan of the new logo.

Let’s see… January 24. Nope, not April 1.

Seriously, what the heck? That new logo is just wrong on so many levels. It’s like something off a racecar toy.

could be worse i guess, they could’ve butchered the original warbonnet scheme… i’m a firm believer of the…‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it’ policy

Ick.

That’s an ok color for a Tupperware bowl, do they think this will make locomotives inconspicuous?

That logo is not that good looking. BRING BACK THE WARBONNET AND THE ATSF NAME.

Looks gross, I’d see a UP over that any day (I never thought I’d ever say that).

Hmmm…this new paint scheme must make the locomotive 1) go faster, 2) pull more, or 3) get better fuel economy. At the very least it must create a discernable return to investors… Railroads don’t care about paint or how the equipment looks…only railfans do… so why would they change the paint scheme and logo?

ROMANCE: AIN’T IT GREAT

Thanks for posting that;at least now I KNOW I won’t be
spending money for paint and decals!!!
(how DO YOU spell UGLY ?)

It’s kinda cool. But I’ll miss the “asprin pill”.

Imagine all the different photo opps now with all the paint schemes that BNSF has.

BNSF should spend the money where it really counts. Use the “image” money on capacity improvements–increasing a siding or two, or maybe lenghtening double track. These changes will actually get them some additional customers. I don’t believe a swoosh and stylized lettering will increase the carload count.

UP has tried the “image” improvement ploy with “We Will Deliver” and “Building America”. Regardless of the image, all the customer wants is consistant quality service.

So why spend the additional dollars needed for such an expensive redo? Especially when the dollars spent on the change will not net one additional customer.

I think their new paint scheme is kind of shocking, but BNSF is a progressive company. At least they are still honoring their heritage though. It will be even harder for me to hear “BNSF Railway Company” rather than Burlington Northern Santa Fe railway.

Wow. Ugly.

GEESh didnt anybody over there realise that speed lettering is just too much d&rgw and that slash reminds me of nike not the raceway to aurora. They should have stuck with either the warbonnet or the simplified green and orange. I wonder how much the image consultant got paid for this nonsense.
