New BNSF SD70ace are on the property

Enhanced

Well as usual BNSF has changed things up. They decided to put the new units on a empty coal train at Maxon Iowa. They have been added to a E GAICDM and on the computer they show to not be on the lead but trailing units “sorry”, BNSF 8852 is on the point. If anyone is still interested in seeing them today the train is ordered out of Creston at 1630 heading towards Lincoln. Unfortunetaly they will not be in Lincoln until after dark.
If anyone still wants to know when the others come out let me know and I will keep track and post were they are located and other information.

Not anymore. The La Grange plant was closed and torn down some years ago now.[:(]

Is there any sort of engine break-in period required on a new locomotive? Looks like these guys are going right to work.

They sure didn’t waste any time. I imagine the crew must have seen those in the rear and wondered why the heck they had to ride in the MAC.

So if a woman gets an upper torso enhancement, it would be a 34De? [tup]

5 more units came through here today in Sarnia, #8386, 9382, 9383, 9376 and 9374. trhese units were trail a pair of BNSF units too boot a Dash9 an da SD40-2, so seve BNSF units all in one train, ironically this wa sa CN train, possilby #395, they left around 3 pm estearn time.

NO. It means its Tier 2 emissions complient.

Last time I checked the SD70ACe was labled as “SD60M” and called the ES44DC “GP39V” on BNSF’ computer. I think there’s a few things wrong with that. Anyway, the units I was talking about was 9370-9372 which were in Sarnia, ON Canada just hours before bnsfengineer’s post…so in no way were those particular units in Cicero, no way!!! As for the other units, they might have been at the time of his post I never knew much about them, just 9370-9372.

DOH! I was in Galesburg and I missed them, oh well there are a bunch more at Cicero today and hopefully will come out soon.

Saw four of the new ones leading a westbound train of empty coal cars, passing through Ottumwa, IA at 3:45 PM today. Whether you like the paint scheme or not, they sure are shiny. Sorry but I didn’t think to catch the numbers.

Only parts of the La Grange plant were torn down. The engine building still stands and does produce engines and engine parts.

From Electro Motive Diesel’s website:

The company’s headquarters, engineering facilities and parts-manufacturing operations are located in LaGrange, Illinois, just west of Chicago. Final assembly is conducted at EMD’s state-of-the-art plant at London, Ontario, from which EMD products are exported to customers around the world.
