In OCTOBER Kalmbach is releasing a new book written and photographed by Pelle Soeeborg ( Denmark ). I’m sure his book will have the incredible high standards as his modeling skills. I recommend you order your copy through your local hobby shop now to guareentee you’ll get a copy.
Also a new article in Model Railroader written by Pelle should be published I believe in November .
Now thats a book I will buy. I think Pelle Soeeborg is an outstanding modeler. He does a better job modeling the US than alot of us folks that live here including me.

What’s the book about?
Pelle’s book will be a photo expose’ of his current layout ( lots of pictures ) and a walk through on how he did the detailing and creation of the many scratch built extras. Although I have not seen the book I have seen some photos of the stuff that may go into the book. Simply amazing. I met Pelle this June in Tehachapi and he is excited about the new book. I already plan on ordering 20 copies to give to my non-railroad friends.
You betcha, I’m so jealous of his great looking desert scenes. I can’t even come close, ands he’s over on the other side of the pond doing it.
Ill have to get that.

Just a note: He mentioned that besides desert scenes there is an entire section on the Donner and/or Feather River area, which of course means mountains, bridges, rivers, and trees. He also said he created the “Duolith” Cement Plant just outside Mojave but it’s not the completed version that will eventually be on his layout. Accordingly due to time restraints for the book he super-detailed a Walther’s kit but will take a year to scratch build his creative version of the plant, and will write an article about that too!
During my move here, we stayed in Mojave and stayed in the hotel and Denny’s he built on his layout. They didn’t know what 1/87th size pancakes were though.
