New IE 7.0 not compatible with this site -- yet

I think those “quirks” are more likely features MS couldnt get right all the time, so they appeared as what are euphimisticaly called “Undocumented Features”. Information is released “Back channel” so people will use them, but Microsoft doesnt have to support them or guarentee it.

Cynical? Me? [:-^]

It is left to the reader to decide for themselves which is the most likely cause. Dont forget to take history into account…

I couldn’t uninstall IE7 all because some programs need to run on it. Some programs won’t run on Firefox. So I have no choice but to keep IE7.

It’s you’re fault you continue accept all this from Micro$loth.

I’m running the “supposed” final release of Firefox 2.0 and it appears all the elements on the page are displaying correctly. [:)]

There are some sites that MUST use IE x. I have a client that only allows access to their secure site through IE. I use Firefox for 95% of my browsing but need to have IE on my computer to access specific sites.

So who’s fault is that? [?]

That’s a good rule. Though with my few years of experience using FireFox, I’ve found that almost everything works…! I’m currently running 2.0rc3, after upgrading to the “Bon Echo” release from 1.0.7 – hey, it still worked just fine!

I still occasionally use IE (6), though not very often! FireFox works MUCH better than IE for a lot of stuff.

Also, as a website owner, I originally designed my site to work in IE, though more recently I have been upgrading it to work in FireFox, and as a result, it now works better than ever in IE!

As for this forum, it has plenty of bugs that still need to be worked out. The fonts in the input box still don’t match the output fonts, and then there are all the other browser “issues”…

I just downloaded the new Firefox 2.0. I love it. Firefox is the bomb. Thank you Firefox.

Yours. [:o)] I just had the same discussion on the 3um about this, and I recommended IE tab. It uses a tab in FF to pull up a site using IE, without the need for a completely different window!

I don’t use it myself, but the one member who did use it reports that it works spectacularly!

I’ve also heard that Netscape’s newest browser (also Mozilla-based) has a similar modification built in, but I’ve never bothered playing around with Netscape that much…

I use Netscape almost exclusively, but I also have IE and FireFox. Netscape seems to automatically load pages in FireFox mode unless the site requires IE. Then it automatically loads in IE mode. Occassionally Netscape gets it wrong, and I just click a button to switch to the other mode.

Netscape doesn’t have the customizability that FireFox offers, but I haven’t had any need to customize FireFox anyway.

All hail Mozilla Firefox !! [8D][8D]

I just got IE 7.0 on Monday and its just another reason to stop using IE explorer altogether. [:(!]

Oh look, I got emoticons again! [:o)] Something I didn’t have even before 7.0 with IE when this site was upgraded.

I’ve had Firefox for 3 years now and really need to start using it on all the sites I visit.

The ONLY reason why I like Firefox so much is…
#3. The browser is much faster.
#2. No Popups.
And the number 1 reason why I like firefox over IE7. No SPYWARE! I just hate spyware.

That is not completely true. They can still install tracking cookies in Firefox.

Sometimes yes. I do an ad-aware check everyday and so far no cookies are used except for the one’s that are needed for log in’s.

I’ve always heard that calling cookies “spyware” is an awfully stretched use of the term… Even so, I’ve seen some otherwise perfectly harmless cookies be flagged as “spyware”, which is absolutely ridiculous! Some of the various toolbars (generally installed on IE anyways) are also flagged as spyware… So I’d take most “spyware problems” with a grain of salt. Basically, know what you’re downloading, and what has been downloaded “for you”…

RP.net’s ad servers still manage to sneak pop-ups through, even on FireFox… but they had that figured out about as soon as a lot of people started moving to FireFox…!

You don’t want to use ArmPit? Seriously? C’mon, that’s only the greatest browser name I’ve ever heard!!! [:o)][:o)]

The site I need IE for has built in checks to make sure I am using IE. It is a secure site, with complicated log ons etc. You can not “fool” the site into thinking you are using IE when in fact you are using Firefox.

Well I tell you one thing. Even running Firefox isn’t 100% perfect. I did go to railpictures.net and still a web site called a.tribalfusion.com hit me with a popup. I think that the spyware is more worse now. I have never had this problem in the past useing Firefox. Now over a sudden popups are sneeking through Firefox. What gives?

I have Firefox, Opera, and Maxthon, but IMHO Maxthon is the best. It uses the IE engine, but the options, plugins, and adblocker are great. I find it faster than FF. It’ll be interesting to see how Maxthon works with IE7, but I’m not planning to upgrade anytime soon. I just upgraded to FF 2.0, and now my favorite skin, Aluminum Kai, is no longer supported. [:(]
