Me too.

However it’s days may be numbered as a ad-free site. They have plans to try 15 second advertising in front of each and every video. I dont know too much other than what the news has been reporting on the net.

But for the time being they are useful for train videos.

Bet that would surely put the brakes on their site! I too recall reading about YouTube, how popular it had become and still wasn’t making money. Same business plan as has been done in the past - offer something for free and when it gets to be popular, cripple it with advertising. If the ads were placed on the screen around the videos, it wouldn’t be as distracting but probably wouldn’t be as effective. I wonder how many people would stay away with the ads?

I see Google and also Photobucket are now hosting videos too, maybe competition will help us all.

I have three videos on YouTube, and have joined. I see you can’t pick and choose which of your videos will show, I have two model railroad ones and a recent one on a local prototype passenger train, and all show up. Nothing spectacular, all were shot with my digital camera that has video capabilities. Fun so far!

I just joined also.

Question, any way to download the vids to my PC? I want to be able to look at them later and to show others as well.
Thanks for answering

I have been a member of YouTube for several months. I joined the group and added my three vids. Love watchin train videos.

I don’t think you can…

I have added a few more videos to my membership:

  1. An overview of the club layout
  2. An operational trackside signal that I scratchbuilt
  3. My longest train. 84 cars!
