New museum display layout under construction.

The Chrysler Museum in Norfolk, VA is having an exhibit called “Crossroads, Transportation in Norfolk”. As part of this exhibit, members of the Tidewater Division of the NMRA are building a small display layout which will showcase the N&W and Virginian Railways. The layout is being built as 4 NMRA standard HO corner modules, which can be used with our division’s module group when the exhibit is finished. It will be a representation of the local area and will feature trains running on three loops.

Tidewater Division Superintendent Jim Keiper (left) and the Project Leader Cliff Vertz have the module benchwork set up and are starting to lay track.

The exhibit is on display in the historic Willoughby-Byler House in downtown Norfolk. It will be running from now until March 2008, and open from 10-4 Wednesdays through Saturdays and 12-4 Sundays. Admission is free, so stop by if you are in the area.
