New York, New Haven and Hartford

My wife and I received this train set from her father. He bought it over 20 years ago. I have searched and searched for info on this set. The locomotive has a broken rear truck bracket that I have glued together to get us by for now. I would like to get parts for it but I cannot find anything on it. It is also called The New Englander. It has the number 8007 on the side of the locomotive. Any info would be greatly appreciated if found. I am somewhat new to the model train world but I am hooked on it. Thanks.

“New Englander” doesn’t ring a bell with me. More information would help. Is there a box? With a maker’s name? Any markings on the bottom of the cars or locomotive? What gage is it O, HO, N? If you don’t know, tell us the distance between the rails. Steam or diesel engine? How many cars? Freight or passenger? Track is solid brass? tinplate? solid steel? solid aluminum? solid nickel silver? Two rail or three rail? It is electric? Does it still run? Is there a makers name on the power pack? The rolling stock is made from plastic? metal? wood?

NYNH&H #8007, Lionel 3-rail, 2-6-4 wheel arrangement, O-27 gauge, manufactured circa 1980-81, by MPC/Fundimension - long since out-of-business.

However, today’s Lionel Trains, Inc. can probably supply parts if necessary. Better yet, call around to some local hobby shops to see who repairs Lionel locally (a lot do, or know someone who does). Repair costs are generally modest.

CNJ831

Sorry dstarr I left out important info that CNJ831 gave.

The part is easy to replace as I had it apart to glue it together. Alot of places do not show pictures of parts which makes it hard for me to find the correct piece. Thanks for the info. I have a business card of a repair shop but I have not yet called. I thought with all of the stuff I had I could find it online but that is showing to be not happening. Thanks again for the info.
